👋 Hi I am Sumon Kanti Dey

I am a PhD student in Computer Science and Informatics at Emory University, fortunate to be advised by Prof. Azra Ismail.
My research focuses on the intersection of healthcare, natural language processing (NLP), and human-computer
interaction (HCI). I am particularly interested in developing fair and inclusive AI systems to improve health
equity and outcomes for underserved communities. I also explore human behavior and wellbeing through social media
and online data, uncovering insights to design meaningful, human-centered solutions.

Prior to starting my PhD, I worked as a data scientist for two Singapore-based startups: LeadBook, a sales
intelligence company, and Evco, an electric mobility service startup.
I had the opportunity to intern remotely at the Vis4Sense research group, where I worked under the
guidance of Professor Kai Xu. During my internship, I focused on a variety of
        areas,
including Data Science, Visual Analytics, HCI, and NLP. I was responsible for implementing
machine-learning models and visualization techniques to personalize the browsing experience
of users and analyze their interests and goals. I did my undergrad in Computer Science
at Noakhali Science and Technology University in Bangladesh .

In my spare time, I enjoy participating in Kaggle competitions and exploring Kaggle datasets.
I am an amiable person with simple thoughts. I love music, and I enjoy playing the violin.
